The TPMS, tire pressure monitoring system is a new-age technology method that helps to warn the driver that one of the tyre or more of the vehicle are under-inflated which can cause severe damage to the vehicle and dangerous driving conditions. It needs to be reset every time after inflating the tire and after rotation of wheels. This can become inaccurate if you purchase smaller or bigger tyres.

What is direct TPMS?
The direct monitoring method utilises the pressure monitoring sensors which are present in the wheels of the car. The direct system also offers temperature readings. The monitoring system collects all the data and sends it to a centralised system.

At the centralised system, the data is interpreted, analysed and in case the pressure is lower than required, the signal will be transmitted to the dashboard. The data is sent wirelessly as each sensor has a different serial number. With the help of the unique and different serial numbers, the system distinguishes between each and every sensor as it is connected wirelessly.

Advantages of direct TPMS
The direct method is more accurate than the indirect one. In the direct monitoring m, there is no requirement to reset the system after each and every rotation. The batter of the system lasts for around ten years.

Disadvantages of the direct TPMS:
Direct TPMS is quite expensive as compared with the indirect one. The sensors of direct monitoring are more susceptible towards the damage of the wheel during the mounting or the demounting process. The battery is not repairable. This means in case the battery gets damaged or drained, the entire sensor has to be changed.
